Welcome!
Founded in 1858, Saint Paul's Episcopal Church of Wilmington, North
Carolina, is conveniently located at the intersection of Market and 16th
Street in a splendid gothic-revival sanctuary with two magnificent pipe
organs. Our worship strive to provide Choral Eucharist of the highest
standards along with theologically-based lectionary preaching.
Intellectually open-minded and flexible, the Church provides for a
variety of services, programs, and education all in keeping within the
historic teachings and custom of the Anglican Tradition.
St.
Paul’s New Rector, Fr. Ted Howard McConnell was previously the Dean of
St. Paul’s Cathedral for the Wisconsin Diocese of Fond du Lac, having
previously served churches for twenty years throughout the South.
Graduating from Virginia Theological Seminary he was a Deacon at St.
Paul’s K Street in Washington, DC. and ordained to the Priesthood in
1985.
A southern historical scholar, age 59, he is married to Anita who has
been active in virtually every lay church position and along with her
husband sings in the Oratorio Society.
His personal profile highlights skills in teaching, liturgy,
administration, preaching and public speaking, pastoral care, and
spiritual guidance. |
