The planning has been done on schedule, everyone's voices have been heard, and St. Paul’s is ready to assure its future success!

‘Parish Encounter #1’ drew approximately 70 parishioners to St. Paul’s
Approximately 70 parishioners attended the ‘Parish Encounter #1’ meeting that was held in the Parish Hall on October 15. Fr. Randy, our Transitional Rector (right), opened the meeting with a clear, well-organized presentation on where St. Paul’s stands in this transition time, and exactly what our options are as a church.

After presenting all the options and the long-term results that would be achieved by each option, Fr. Randy invited all those present at the meeting to vote for the various options.

The meeting then broke into separate workgroups (below left) that brainstormed all possible ideas for ensuring the ongoing financial health the church. After the brainstorming sessions, one member of each workgroup presented the group’s ideas and recommendations to the meeting (below center).

Fr. Randy concluded the meeting (below right) by explaining the various missions of St. Paul’s and their support functions, and inviting everyone to get involved.

What does Pastoral Care do in our Church?
This ministry is being shared by our Vestry Liaisons Larry Wright and Liz Hosier.
Elaine Francis is assisting them and is readily available to hear and respond to the needs and concerns of our parishioners. In this ministry we will visit the sick at home or in the hospital and those in a nursing facility. We will maintain contact with those unable to attend church and comfort the bereaved. We will provide meals to bereaved families and new birth families, and work with our rector to bring pastoral care wherever needed.

If you would like to assist in this ministry please let us know as we want everyone that needs a call, visit, meal, or just a note to know that they are in our prayers, that they can receive the blessings that we receive within our church family. You can participate as little or as much as you desire and you will be guaranteed a family or friend that needs your prayers, visit, or just a phone call. If you know of someone who we should visit or call on please contact the church office or Elaine Francis at Efancy2@aol.com or 791-3173.

Ministerial Programs
Ministerial programs for children, young adults, and adults
Among the opportunities for children the Sunday School and the Youth Choir are the most important. Other activities have included the Blessing of the Animals, Advent wreath making, the Christmas Pageant and an Easter Egg Hunt.

Adult classes include a Bible Study in the Parish Hall each Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. and an Adult Sunday School class in the Library each Sunday at 9:15 a.m. Other classes are held periodically, such as a Confirmation Class, and are announced in the PARABLES and in the weekly bulletin.

The Parish members comprise a spectrum of ages whose diverse interests range from participation in various choral musical groups, actively serving in a variety of liturgical functions, or ministering through social out-reach and lay-visitation with the sick, the needy, and our elderly. Bible study and theological and inspirational reading and discussions, helping with the marvelous constant offerings of wonderful food at the church, and even maintaining and enhancing the church gardens and physical faculties are all attractive possibilities. In the Anglican Tradition, truly “the Church is the (activity of) the people of God.”
