Meet the Rector
St. Paul's is currently served by a Transitional Rector, the Reverend Randolph P. Green, Sr., who took up his appointment on September 15, 2010. He comes to us from St. Andrew's by the Sea, Nags Head, NC, where he has been the Interim Rector since June 2008. His home is in Boone, NC, where he and his wife Nancy have lived for the past 24 years. His original home was Atlanta, Georgia where he attended Georgia State University before attending St. Luke's Seminary at The University of the South, Sewanee, TN.
The Rev. Randy Green served Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church in Atlanta for 4 years before opening a human resources consulting business, Southeastern Management Systems, which he operated for 12 years working primarily with banks. During that time he served as a consultant to the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta and as a regular supply clergy to the parishes of that diocese.
In 1984 he joined Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse as their Corporate Director of Organization Development and later served as Corporate Employment Director. Again he served parishes in the Diocese of Western North Carolina as a regular supply clergy and consultant. He retired from Lowe's after 12 years and founded Evergreen Properties, LLC which developed golf course townhomes in Boone. Eight years ago Fr. Randy chose to reenter the full-time parish ministry as an intentional interim rector and has served The Church of the Epiphany, Eden, NC.; St. Michael's Church, Raleigh, NC; St. Paul's Church, Greenville, NC; Church of the Ascension, Hickory, NC; St. Timothy's Church in Winston-Salem, NC; and Saint Andrew's By the Sea, Nags Head.
His wife Nancy is a registered nurse and team supervisor for The American Red Cross in Winston-Salem and she will be a regular part of the church community during the interim period.
